RightsAssist Launches RightsPro Suite
Washington, D.C. — RightsPro Suite has gotten rave reviews from the publishing industry. Introduced to the market by RightsAssist, the people who excel at rights and permissions, IP rights professionals applaud this licensing and content management software product, from its concept to its organization and speed. "RightsPro is managing rights smart," said one source.

RightsAssist LLC, a rights management and consulting group, designed a suite of software modules in order to track every detail in the licensing process and give enough flexibility to allow multiple users access to critical research, rights, and finance information. RightsPro supports serial licenses for multiple projects with staggered posting deadlines and users can follow a standard series of steps which, if followed from beginning to end, can reduce the risk of copyright infringement. "In order to perform better rights administration for clients such as Discovery Communications, National Geographic, and Worth Publishers," commented Louis Plummer, Managing Partner of RightsAssist, "we needed to come up with something, so we challenged our market analysts and technology specialists, and that something is RightsPro. Clients now want our service and our system."

For web publishers, speed is of the essence. With RightsPro in place, content managers can determine what terms are in effect, what items are being used, and what fees have been negotiated, invoiced and paid. Production staff can tell where the originals are, whether they meet the production requirements and who was the last person to handle them. The business staff can tell whether they can repackage the existing content in another media without obtaining additional permissions. And at the end of the project, all of the associated records can be easily archived for future access.

When asked about the shelf life of RightsPro, Christina Shutes, Director for RightsAssist responded, "Not to worry, as the technology expands, we expect to lead the way in providing superior products for the licensing and managing of content in all media. In fact, we are already developing other module concepts which will address future needs of the publishing community."

RightsPro will be on display at the Seybold Convention in San Francisco, September 24 through 29, 2001. The RightsAssist team will be on hand for live demonstrations and random drawings.
